Nor Height Nor Depth

“Nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love
of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Getting to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix, Arizona by car is quite a lengthy drive. But its majestic views are certainly worth the drive. When I visited, it was a great escape from the pressures I was feeling about beginning my master’s program in the Phoenix area. I remember how awestruck I was by the fact that what I saw was actually real!
I’ll never forget the brilliant blue sky and the cotton candy-like clouds. The beautiful red hues seen throughout the mountain formations can have you gazing for days—OK, hours. The vastness of the Grand Canyon’s valley and mountains make this world wonder appear never ending.
If you think about it, this scene depicts God’s never-ending love for us. Romans 8:39 explains that nothing can separate us from the love of God. No matter how far we feel we have strayed, His hands are outstretched ready to embrace us, His children. Let’s never forget His Majestic lovingkindness.
